BEFORE BOOKING

When you send me a message, tell me about you and what you're looking for in your next session. I will do my best to see how I can be of help.

UPON BOOKING

When we have found a date and time that works for your session and the $50 deposit has been paid, your session is booked.  I'll send you a custom questionnaire to get to know more about you and your session goals. We will select a location that will work well for your session.

ON THE DAY OF OUR SHOOT

On the day of our shoot we will meet at our chosen location and have a great time!  You can expect a relaxed, lightly guided experience with soft posing and easy prompts.  Many times after a session, clients comment about how easy and comfortable it was.  I make a plan ahead of time so your session is comfortable and unique for your family. I am there to take care of you!

ONCE OUR SESSION IS COMPLETE

Within 7 days of your final invoice payment, I will send you via email your downloadable digital proofing gallery for you to select your final images that you can share freely. You are welcome to order prints, canvases and albums through me, or you also have a print release to use whatever lab you choose. Of course, we can chat about which ones I recommend to ensure quality images!

Family Session FAQS

What will the session be like?

I will do my best to provide you with a wonderful experience that is relaxed and enjoyable.   I will suggest various poses and activities.  I will also be looking to capture some of the in-between moments as well.  I'm looking for pieces of heartfelt connection.  My goal is to authentically document your family, so your job is to enjoy being together.  This is your time to be together as a family and just have fun!!

What if my child is really active?

That's awesome!  Most of the images on my site were captured while a child was busy playing and exploring. If children aren't interested in the activities I have planned, I try my best to follow their lead so that families enjoy their time together and we get photos of genuine joy.  To get the most out of your session, bring snacks (non-messy) and water for short breaks during the session. I want your family to play, laugh, snuggle and just enjoy the time together.

What should I wear?

Be comfortable.  Neutral clothing with minimal print in complementary colors seems to work best. Keep the current season in mind.  

​

 

Where should we take the pictures?  

I can meet you for an in-home session, at my studio in Goochland, VA, or at an outdoor setting in the Richmond or Goochland area.  There are so many possibilities.  Let me know if you would like suggestions for a location.

What time of day is best?  

If we are doing photos indoors at your home, anytime between 10 am and 2 pm is ideal.  If we are doing photos outside, the two hours after sunrise or the two hours before sunset have the best light.

What if the weather is bad or someone is sick on the day of my shoot?  

Life happens and I want to work with you as much as I can.  We will find a date to reschedule, but please give me as much notice as possible so I can plan accordingly.

How do I book my session?  

1) Select a time and date for your session.  2) Book and pay your non-refundable $50 deposit.  3) Complete the questionnaire.   4) Look forward to your session!

When do I get my photos?

I will email you an invoice after the session for the remaining balance.  Once paid in full, I will email you within one week with a link to the online gallery where you can view and download your photos.  The photos you will receive are high resolution JPG for your full use.

​
