When should I get my maternity photos taken?

Usually, somewhere between 30 - 36 weeks is the best time to have your maternity photos taken, but every mama is different.  Once that amazing belly is really showing, you're ready.  Since I am typically booked out a few weeks try to schedule your session as soon as you can.

What if I am feeling insecure about how I look during my pregnancy and I am not sure if I want to get my pictures taken?  

Please know that you are not alone.  It is a very common feeling for mamas-to-be, especially with your first pregnancy.  You are busy growing a little human being inside your body and there are so many changes.  I have had three pregnancies of my own and I completely understand.    From where I stand now, I see this season of our lives as women to be absolutely beautiful and I will do my very best to help you feel and look your very best during the session.  These images will be a gift to yourself and your child to document your story.

 What should I wear?

I want you to feel beautiful and comfortable.  Choose something that makes you feel your very best and really accentuates your belly.  If you want a fun, flowy dress for your session, check out some of these sites (www.lulus.com, balticborn.com, or www.asos.com).  Bold prints or bold colors should be avoided as they can be distracting. 

 

How do I book my session?  

You can book your session directly through my website or send me a message amandamilesphotographyllc@gmail.com.  We will find a date and time that work best for you on my calendar.  Please note that a $50 deposit is required to hold your date and time.  Prints and albums are not included in the price of the session, but can be purchased separately.  After your session is booked, I will send a questionnaire for you to complete.

What time of day is best to schedule my session?  

If we are doing photos at the studio, anytime between 10 am and 2 pm is ideal.  If we are doing photos outside, the two hours before sunset have the best light.

What if the weather is bad or someone is sick on the day of my shoot?  

Life happens and I want to work with you as much as I can.  We will find a date to reschedule, but please give me as much notice as possible so I can plan accordingly.

What will happen DURING my session?

When we meet at our chosen location, we can discuss the plan for our session ahead of time so you know what to expect.  I want your experience to be joyful, comfortable and meaningful for you.  If you have children joining for the session, I will have activities and games for them to do with your so that it can be as natural as possible.  I will guide you through poses and prompts so you will look your best and have opportunities for some beautiful moments.  People often tell me ahead of time that they are really nervous because they don't know what to do.  I am here to help!  I will try my best to make you feel comfortable and enjoy your session.  I'll be giving you lots of suggestions and tips for posing along the way, so you don't have to wonder what to do.   I am often told by clients that they are surprised how easy the whole experience is and that is my goal.

What happens after the session?

I will send you an invoice via email after the session for the remaining balance.  Once paid in full, I will email you within one week with a link to the online proofing gallery where you can view your edited photos.  The photos you will receive are high-resolution JPG for your personal use.

How long does it take to receive prints and albums?  

After your order is placed, prints take 10 - 14 days and albums take 2 - 3 weeks for shipment.
