BEFORE BOOKING
When you send me a message, tell me about you and what you're looking for in your next session. I will do my best to see how I can be of help.
UPON BOOKING
When we have found a date and time that works for your session and the $50 deposit has been paid, your session is booked. I'll send you a custom questionnaire to get to know your vibe and session goals. From there, we will select a location that speaks to what you're looking for, as well as a location that photographs well. We'll work together to pick the best location for you.
ON THE DAY OF OUR SHOOT
On the day of our shoot we will meet at our chosen location and have a great time! Many times after a session, clients comment about how easy and comfortable it was. I do my best to prepare ahead of time so that you know what to expect and I have a plan for your session. I will help you with prompts and ideas that will allow for the most authentic and beautiful moments. I am there to take care of you!
ONCE OUR SESSION IS COMPLETE
Within 7 days of your final invoice payment, I will send you via email your downloadable digital proofing gallery for you to select your final images that you can share freely. You are welcome to order prints, canvases and albums through me, or you also have a print release to use whatever lab you choose. Of course, we can chat about which ones I recommend to ensure quality images!

SENIORS FAQs
Where should I get my Senior Portraits taken?
Do you enjoy spending time in the great outdoors? Is downtown Richmond your favorite place to hang out? Do you like the shops at Carytown? Or the murals along the Canal Walk? Think about the things you love, or the places that bring you joy and that's where we want to do your photographs. If you don't have a specific place in mind, it's okay. I have lots of ideas.

What should I wear?
Be comfortable. Wear things that feel like you. Neutral clothing in colors that complement your eyes, hair or skin tone work best. Avoid bold patterns and prints in your fabric, since they can be distracting (unless that totally fits your personality). Depending on how quickly you can change, we may have time for 2 - 3 outfit changes during your session, but bring several options so I can help you decide what will look best in front of the camera. I will bring a changing room popup tent to your session so that you can change on location.
How do I book my session?
You can book your session directly through my website or send me a message. Just find a date and time that work best for you on my calendar. Please note that a non-refundable $50 deposit is required to hold your date and time. Prints and albums are not included in the price of the session, but can be purchased separately. Once the session is booked, my Senior Session Questionnaire can be completed.

What time of day is best to schedule my session?
If we are doing photos at the studio, anytime between 10 am and 2 pm is ideal. If we are doing photos outside, the two hours after sunrise or before sunset have the best light.

What if the weather is bad or someone is sick on the day of my shoot?
Life happens and I want to work with you as much as I can. We will find a date to reschedule, but please give me as much notice as possible so I can plan accordingly.
What should I do ahead of time to prepare?
1) SLEEP - Try to get good sleep so you are well rested for your shoot. 2) SKIN - If you have a few blemishes, don't worry. I can quickly retouch them after the session. 3) HAIR - I don't recommend trying out a new hairstyle the day of your session. You want to feel comfortable and like yourself for the session. Guys should be clean shaven the day of the session, unless you want the hair! 4) MAKEUP - Wear any makeup you usually do. Pay close attention to your eye make-up since your eyes will be a focus of your photos. I have a professional make-up artist that can do your make-up for the session at an additional cost. 5) GLASSES - If you wear glasses, be sure to keep them very clean during the session and consider removing them for some of the session. There is a risk of lens glare that I will work to avoid.

When we meet at our chosen location, we can discuss any additional ideas you may have, look over your outfit choices and decide which ones to use, and any other details. People often tell me ahead of time that they are really nervous because they don't know what to do. I am here to help! I will try my best to make you feel comfortable and enjoy your session. I'll be giving you lots of suggestions and tips for posing along the way, so you don't have to wonder what to do. I am often told by clients that they are surprised how easy the whole experience is and that is my goal. When you are relaxed and happy during your session, your natural expressions and personality start to come out and that is exactly what I want to capture.

What should I expect AFTER my session?

When do I get my images?
I will send you an invoice after the session for the remaining balance. Once paid in full, I will email you within one week with a link to the online proofing gallery where you can view your edited photos in the comfort of your own home. The photos you will receive are high resolution JPG for your personal use.

How long does it take to receive prints?
After your order is placed, prints take 10 - 14 days
